This custom designed CD chest had to have a low profile to sit under a window with working indoor shutters. It also had to hold a minimum of 500 CD’s and be limited in width to occupy a very specific spot in the living room. All of those design parameters were met, as well as solving the structural problem of having the weight of a person sitting on the chest, while opening drawers, which could have posed problems.
The chest features through tenons at the frame, hand made wooden drawer pulls and dovetailed drawers.The genuine Honduran mahogany used for the chest was finished with an oil and wax finish and rounded out by a custom made leather cushion.
