I love kitchen islands. They can be tailored to fit any kitchen environment and have a personality which is unique to their location. Every island we have ever made has been a unique individual with custom dimensions, attributes, mechanisms, wood selections, finishes and personalities. And they add so much character to the most important room in the house. This small island was built for my own kitchen and needed no bells or whistles besides a drawer. The kitchen had painted cabinets, so the beautiful mahogany and cherry of the island really popped, and added a warmth that only the beauty of wood can do.
