This figured maple kitchen island featured a hard maple top with inlay. Because the clients are avid upland bird hunters, we inlaid gray partridge tracks as if the bird had wandered across the top. For the drawer front we used through dovetails and let the joinery show on the face of the drawer, all the while keeping a perfect grain match between the drawer front and the apron. A side mounted knife block provides knife storage.
