Made entirely from highly figured maple, this custom designed coffee table was inspired by a piece of furniture commonly found in Parisan apartments and meant to serve the double purpose of coffee table and eating area. Half of the top opens to accommodate wine bottles stood on end, and two additional drawers provide space for place mats, silverware and napkins. There is also a pull out birds-eye maple cutting board tucked neatly into one end. This piece was also embellished with a marquetry image of a ruffed grouse for the east coast client who is an avid upland bird hunter.
